Jay Bee

Jay Bee - James Brown

Jay Bee is a classically educated artist from the forest, now living in Montreal. A producer with over 10 years of experience, Jay Bee enjoys sharing with the underground his unusual approach. Falling upon ancient Greek theories of harmonics forced an epiphany that music is physical. Following this, he has been studying the physics of sound, which has proven to him essential in creating sounds that are not only harmonically stable, but also ought to have actual physiological effects on the listener.

Jay Bee enjoys taking cues from the beat generation and their interest in exposing themselves to finely-tuned oscillating light to induce hallucinatory trips, however Jay Bee uses sound to achieve a similar result. As well as taking such a scientific approach, Jay Bee is also concerned with delivering a dynamic, warm, and meaningful aesthetic with a strong sense of narrative that the masses will grasp in his dense and subtle productions.

Making every effort to deliver music of the highest quality, Jay Bee offers occasional presentations of carefully arranged sets that often include a significant amount of original material using Ableton Live. His progress as an artist would be incomplete if not for the inspiration and support of local artists; his fellows on Move The Masses and many other brilliant artists in Montreal have been essential in bringing about a clear understand not only about how the mixer is an instrument, but also the instrumental force that electronic dance music can have on a listener.

With that, he hopes that his ideals might be brought to the masses and help spur a much needed revolution to overthrow the tyrannical systems that dominate those who rather pursue honest and sustainable living.
